Newly certified Blue Line Scuba students proudly holding the Scuba Diving International flag.

That flag means something. These newly certified Blue Line Scuba students earned the right to hold it proudly. They put in the work, practiced the skills, and took their first steps into a world that still gives experienced divers plenty to learn.

At Blue Line Scuba, we chose Scuba Diving International because of the professionalism we experienced while training with Emergency Response Diving International. Our experience with ERDI gave us confidence in the company behind the training. When it was time to choose an agency for our recreational students, SDI was the choice.

We want an agency we can stand behind. We also want our students to have somewhere to go after that first certification. SDI gives them both a starting point and room to keep growing.

SDI calls it the One Dive Family. It brings together SDI for recreational scuba, TDI for technical diving, ERDI for public safety diving, and PFI for freediving. Different disciplines, with training suited to the demands of each.

SDI grew out of TDI’s technical diving background. Its recreational programs include online learning and training with personal dive computers. Students can continue into specialties, advanced training, rescue, and professional development. For those who later want to explore technical diving, public safety work, or freediving, the wider family offers those paths too. Each requires its own training and prerequisites.

That matters to us. Your Open Water certification is a beginning. Use it. Dive within your training, practice what you learned, ask questions, and keep building experience. There is no need to collect every certification card. Find the diving you enjoy and get good at it.

To our newly certified divers: congratulations. We’re proud of you. Welcome to SDI, welcome to the One Dive Family, and welcome to a lifetime of having a perfectly reasonable excuse to buy more dive gear.

Dive safe. Dive often. Keep learning.
